3-in-a-row for the Shamrocks!
Loughgiel Shamrocks 1-11 - Cuchullians, Dunloy 1-7
All-Ireland club champions Loughgiel Shamrocks completed a hat-trick of Antrim SHC title wins when they had four points to spare over neighbours Dunloy at Casement Park on Saturday.
In winning their 18th title, Loughgiel made an excellent start which saw them establish a 0-4 to 0-0 lead after 12 minutes. Dunloy had to wait until the 17th minute for their opening score before Sean Dowds struck a goal to level proceedings. But the holders had regained their three-point lead within 30 seconds thanks to a Shay Casey major.
Dunloy recovered from that body-blow to go into the break on level terms, 1-4 apiece, thanks to three unanswered points from Dowds, Paul Shields and Liam Richmond. But Loughgiel won the second half by 0-7 to 0-3 to qualify for an AIB Ulster SHC semi-final clash against Armagh champions Middletown on Sunday week, October 14.
