On a beautiful Wednesday evening, Fr Healy Park in Loughgiel
played host to the Parish League Final. Over the past few weeks all the
girls and boys from P4-P7 were gathered together to have weekly games, 88
children in total. The teams were made up of boys and girls and were
named after townlands of Loughgiel, Tully, Ballure, Gruig, Pharis,
Altnarichard, Glenbush, Ballyweaney and Ballybradden. The teams were
coached by volunteers and members of Loughgiel Shamrocks GAC. We would like to
take this opportunity to thank everyone that helped out in anyway throughout
the duration of the tournament. A special word of thanks to Karen
McCormick & Eoin McCloskey for all their organisation and efficient
planning. An annual tournament that has gone from strength to strength
each year and has played a vital in the development of all our juvenile
players. The final saw the Pharis team hold on after a thrilling final to
secure the title of Parish League Champions 2015. No doubt that if
tonight's games are anything to go by and the talent on show the future is most
definitely bright for Loughgiel Shamrocks GAC.
