A strong second half performance today saw Loughgiel take another two points in the league on their travels. St. John's led by 3 points at half time, with Brian McFall being his usual vocal self on and off the score sheet. Loughgiel stayed out on the pitch for the half-time team talk and decided to up the ante. 5 points in a row from the short whistle put the Shamrocks two ahead, with St. John's taking until the 10th minute of the 2nd half to raise a white flag. Loughgiel's work-rate and movement went up a gear and St. John's struggled to match this. A Benny McCarry goal which would have graced any All-Ireland football final put Loughgiel 6 points ahead, and this killed off any St. John's fight-back. Next Sunday the Shamrocks host Dunloy at Fr. Healy Park and it is hoped that a big crowd come down to lend their support as we take on one of our potential challengers for this year's Senior Championship.
